Description

    Deglycyrrhizinated licorice(DGL), also known as de-glycyrrhizinated licorice is made from licorice from which the glycyrrhizin has been removed.It is an herbal supplement typically used in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers. Glycyrrhizin is known to cause negative side effects, such as hypertension and edema; removing the glycyrrhizin is meant to avoid these symptoms.

Pharmacological Properties

DGL soothes the tissues of the stomach and esophagus that have been irritated by refluxed stomach acid.

It also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.

It is also used for sore throat, bronchitis, cough, and infections caused by bacteria or viruses.

Licorice may reduce body fats .

DGL dissolved in warm water when used in gargling for apthous ulcers in mouth reduces pain and swelling .

1 Capsule thrice daily/2 capsule twice daily.
