Description
Shilajit (destroyer of weakness in Sanskrit) also known as Mumie, Mummiyo, Asphaltum and Mineral Pitch is found in the Himalayas, Nepal, Altai, Pamir, and Tien Shan Mountain Ranges. It is usually collected on the ground or found flowing out from between fissures in the rocks. In its raw form, Shilajit is a semi-hard, brownish black to dark, greasy, black resin that has a distinctive smell and taste. Shilajit has been used as a rejuvenator in traditional Indian and Russian medicine.
